The Benefits

Why Feed Gently Cooked?

A step above kibble in every way. Slow-cooked at low temperatures to preserve nutrients while being gentle on your dog's digestion.

Easier to Digest

Gentle cooking breaks down proteins and fibers, making nutrients more accessible for dogs with sensitive stomachs or older dogs.

Many dogs struggle with kibble because their bodies have to work overtime to break down the heavily processed, starch-heavy ingredients. Gently cooked food is different. The low, slow cooking process softens fibers and proteins just enough to make them easy to absorb, without destroying the nutrients. Dogs with sensitive stomachs, recovering from illness, or transitioning off kibble often do best starting with gently cooked meals. You will notice smaller, firmer stools and far less gas within the first week.

Shinier Coat & Healthier Skin

Real fats and cod liver oil from whole ingredients deliver omega fatty acids your dog can actually absorb, unlike synthetic supplements in kibble.

Kibble relies on rendered fats and sprayed-on synthetic omega supplements that your dog struggles to absorb. Our gently cooked stews contain natural fats from real meat plus cod liver oil, providing omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids in the form your dog's body was designed to use. Within weeks of switching, many owners notice less shedding, softer fur, and relief from the itchy, flaky skin that no amount of kibble toppers could fix.

Sustained Energy & Vitality

Protein and healthy fats provide slow-burning fuel all day, unlike the carb-heavy spikes and crashes from kibble.

Kibble is loaded with cheap carbohydrates that cause energy spikes and crashes, similar to a human living on fast food. Our gently cooked meals give your dog energy from protein and healthy fats, which burn slowly and steadily throughout the day. The difference shows in their muscle tone, endurance, and how they move. Older dogs especially benefit: many owners of senior dogs report their pets moving with more spring in their step after switching to real food.

Proper Hydration

Our stews contain 75-81% moisture, matching what dogs evolved eating. Kibble has just 10%, leaving dogs chronically dehydrated.

Dogs evolved eating food with around 70% moisture content. Kibble contains only 6-10% moisture, which means your dog is chronically under-hydrated no matter how much water they drink on the side. This puts stress on their kidneys, bladder, and urinary tract over time. Our gently cooked stews contain 75-81% moisture, naturally hydrating your dog with every meal. This supports kidney health, aids digestion, and contributes to overall well-being, especially important for senior dogs.
