Why Feed Raw?
Cats are obligate carnivores. Their bodies are designed to thrive on raw meat, organs, and bone. Not grains, fillers, or processed starches.
Shinier Coat & Less Shedding
Natural animal fats and amino acids promote a softer, shinier coat with dramatically less shedding and fewer hairballs.
Kibble relies on rendered fats and plant-based oils that cats can't efficiently absorb. Raw meat provides bioavailable omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, plus taurine and other amino acids critical for skin and coat health. Cat owners who switch to raw often notice the shedding drops significantly within a few weeks, and hairballs become far less frequent. A healthy coat starts from the inside, and no amount of grooming can replace proper nutrition.
Lean Muscle & Healthy Weight
High-protein, low-carb raw food helps cats maintain lean muscle mass and a healthy weight naturally.
Obesity is the number one health problem in domestic cats, and high-carb kibble is a major contributor. Cats convert excess carbohydrates directly to fat. Raw food is naturally high in protein and contains virtually zero carbohydrates, so cats build and maintain lean muscle instead of storing fat. Raw-fed cats tend to be leaner, more active, and maintain a healthy weight without needing portion restriction. Their energy comes from protein and fat, just like it would in the wild.
Healthier Urinary Tract
Raw food has high moisture content that keeps cats properly hydrated, supporting kidney and urinary tract health.
Cats are naturally low-thirst animals. In the wild, they get most of their water from prey. Dry kibble contains only about 10% moisture, leaving most cats chronically dehydrated. This puts serious strain on their kidneys and is a leading cause of urinary crystals, blockages, and kidney disease. Raw food contains 65-70% moisture, matching what cats would get from prey. Feeding raw is one of the simplest ways to protect your cat's kidneys and urinary health long-term.
Better Digestion
Cats are obligate carnivores. Raw meat is what their short digestive tracts were built to process, not grains and starches.
Cats have the shortest digestive tract relative to body size of any domesticated animal. They are strict carnivores with virtually no biological need for carbohydrates. Yet most kibble is 30-50% carbohydrates from corn, wheat, rice, or potatoes. Cats lack the enzymes to efficiently break these down, leading to bloating, vomiting, and loose stools. On a raw diet, cats digest their food quickly and completely. Expect smaller, firmer, nearly odorless litter box deposits. Many owners say it's the first thing they notice.
