The Benefits

Why Feed Raw?

Dogs evolved eating raw meat, bones, and organs. A raw diet provides nutrients in their most natural, bioavailable form.

Shinier Coat & Skin

Natural fats and omega oils from real meat promote a softer, shinier coat with less shedding and relief from dry skin and allergies.

Most kibble relies on rendered fats and synthetic omega supplements that your dog struggles to absorb. Raw meat naturally contains omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids in the ratios your dog's body was designed to use. Within weeks of switching to raw, many owners notice less shedding, softer fur, and relief from the itchy, flaky skin that no amount of kibble toppers could fix. If your dog is constantly scratching or has a dull coat, it's often not allergies. It's diet.

Cleaner Teeth

Raw meaty bones naturally scrape away plaque and tartar buildup, promoting healthier gums and fresher breath.

Kibble companies market "dental health" formulas, but dry food crumbles on contact and doesn't scrape anything. In fact, the starchy carbohydrates in kibble stick to teeth and feed the bacteria that cause plaque. Raw meaty bones work like a natural toothbrush: the gnawing action physically removes buildup while enzymes in raw meat help fight harmful bacteria. Dogs fed raw consistently have whiter teeth, healthier gums, and significantly better breath, without expensive dental cleanings.

Better Digestion

Raw food is biologically appropriate and easier for dogs to break down. Expect smaller, firmer stools and less gas.

Dogs have short, acidic digestive tracts built for processing raw meat, not the grains, starches, and fillers packed into kibble. When you feed kibble, your dog's body has to work overtime to break down ingredients it was never designed to eat, leading to bloating, gas, and large, smelly stools. On a raw diet, dogs absorb more nutrients from less food. The result? Smaller, firmer, nearly odorless stools and far less gas. It's one of the first changes owners notice, usually within the first week.

More Energy & Stronger Joints

Dogs on raw diets show more sustained energy, better muscle definition, and improved joint mobility.

Kibble is loaded with cheap carbohydrates that cause energy spikes and crashes, similar to a human living on fast food. Raw-fed dogs get their energy from protein and healthy fats, which burn slowly and steadily throughout the day. The difference shows in their muscle tone, endurance, and how they move. Older dogs especially benefit: the natural glucosamine from raw bones and connective tissue supports joint health far better than the synthetic supplements sprinkled into "senior" kibble formulas. Many owners of senior dogs report their pets moving like puppies again after switching.

If you would rather not drive, we deliver across the greater Seattle area, from Everett to Tacoma, in our own refrigerated van. Enter your ZIP code at checkout to see your delivery days, then pick a date. Orders go out frozen in our own refrigerated van and arrive in an insulated container that keeps the food frozen for up to 24 hours after drop-off, so you do not need to be home. Delivery is a flat $5.95 per order with a $100 minimum. Set any item to repeat every 2 or 4 weeks and we build your next order automatically, with a reminder email before your card is charged.
Chicken and turkey are the easy everyday staples and the most common place to start. Beef is the hearty classic, pork wins over picky eaters, and bison is leaner than beef and a good change of pace. For dogs with chicken or beef sensitivities, venison is lean and easy on the stomach, duck suits dogs who cannot do chicken, and rabbit is our gentlest protein for allergies. Chicken, turkey, duck, and rabbit are bone-in, with finely ground bone mixed in. Beef, bison, pork, and venison are boneless.
Adult dogs generally eat 2 to 4% of their body weight per day: about 2% to lose weight, 3% to maintain, and 4% to gain weight or for a very active dog. For a 50 pound dog at 3%, that is about 1.5 pounds a day. Puppies eat more for their size: about 8% of body weight under 4 months, stepping down to 4% from 9 months, then the adult rate from their first birthday. Our feeding calculator does the math from your dog's weight, age, and goal, and it can size a recurring delivery to match.
Plain supermarket meat is a fine ingredient but not a complete meal. Dogs also need organs, bone or another calcium source, and the vitamins and minerals that come with them, and ground beef on its own leaves those out. A complete raw dog food does the balancing for you. Ours is muscle meat, organs, bone, and organic vegetables, formulated to meet or exceed AAFCO levels for adult dog maintenance, made from the same USDA-inspected, human-grade meats you would buy at the grocery store, with no synthetic vitamins or fillers.
